"Carry Me Home" (1981)

Demo Song

Background Information

“Carry Me Home” is a possible song title that was developed around the time that U2 were working on the album October. We don’t know the true working title for the song, and this is likely a title from a third party.

In June 1981, on two occasions, U2 play a song that is titled “Carry Me Home”. Once at the concert on June 6, 1981 in Aylesbury England, and once at the concert on June 9, 1981 at the Hammersmith Palais in London England. The song is rough and the lyrics mostly just repeat the phrase “Carry Me Home” although at one point he sings “Home is where the heart is”. The song has never appeared again to our knowledge.
